The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement concerning the suicide bombing in Dimona, Israel:
“I strongly condemn today’s suicide bombing in Israel. I offer my condolences to the family of the victim of this attack.
“This cowardly incident is another reminder that terrorism cannot be allowed to succeed. Those who choose to use terrorist violence only damage the cause they claim to represent.
“Such acts must not be allowed to undermine the peace process. Canada calls for an end to all violence and urges restraint. The priority of the parties must remain to continue their negotiations toward peace.”
