TORONTO – As it nears its 5th anniversary, the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee is charting a course to grow as a national organization, including expanded membership, offices, and activity across the country.
“It is easy for Jewish organizations to get absorbed in the large Jewish centres,” said Mark Waldman, CJPAC’s Executive Director. “We know that in order to build relationships between political officials and our community we need to engage our entire community, riding by riding, coast to coast.”
With this in mind, CJPAC expanded its Advisory Board to bring in more strong and experienced voices from all corners of Canada and to ensure greater regional balance. It has also increased its fundraising goal so that it can open an office in Western Canada in addition to its existing offices in Toronto and Montreal.
“CJPAC’s work is crucial to ensuring that our community’s concerns are heard by Canada’s elected officials,” said Joel Reitman, Chair of CJPAC’s board. “Our success to date has been extraordinary, but there is still a long way to go and national growth is one of the most effective and efficient ways for us to reach those goals.”
CJPAC is a unique national, grassroots, independent organization whose mandate is to build relationships between the Jewish & pro-Israel communities and elected officials of all political parties –and works for Jewish community interests, on a multi-partisan basis, during and between elections.
