On October 23rd, CJPAC co-hosted our second annual “Israeli Wines and Canadian Cheese” reception on Parliament Hill, with the Canada-Israel Committee, the Canada-Israel Inter-parliamentary Group, and the Israeli Embassy in Canada. Over 400 people attended, including 122 Parliamentarians from all four parties. Some notable guests were Hon. Tony Clement, Minister of Health; Hon. Jason Kenney, Secretary of State for Multiculturalism; Gilles Duceppe, Leader of the Bloc Quebecois; and new National Director of the Liberal Party Greg Fergus, at his first event in his new role. The guests were addressed by James Lunney, Chair of the Canada-Israel Inter-parliamentary Group; Israel’s Ambassador to Canada Alan Baker; CJPAC Board member Elliot Lifson; and CIC Board member and CJPAC member Jason Caron. The “Israeli Wines and Canadian Cheese” reception is becoming well-known on the Hill as the “hot ticket” event to start off the Parliamentary session.
