Job Description: Director of Campus Programming 


CJPAC is a national, independent, not-for-profit multi-partisan organization. For over fifteen years, CJPAC has worked to engage Jewish and pro-Israel Canadians in the democratic process and to foster active political participation. CJPAC’s unique programs and events inspire Canadians with all levels of political experience – whether new, curious, or already engaged – to become more active in the democratic process. 


Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director and working closely with the overall Programming team, the Director of Campus Programming oversees CJPAC’s flagship Fellowship Program and campus initiatives, manages our active national Fellowship Alumni Network and maintains our relationships with Fellowship alumni.  

The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with people of all backgrounds and partisan preferences. They will have passion for CJPAC’s mission, be able to motivate others to act and instill confidence in people. This individual must be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to think strategically. Problem solving, entrepreneurial skills and remaining calm under pressure will be essential for success in this position. They must be committed to ongoing learning and keeping up to date on best practices in working with students and alumni. 


The Director of Campus Programming is responsible for planning and executing all campus and alumni programming, including a major annual conference, and working with our cohort of student activists. Success and accountability will be based on agreed-upon metrics.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Fellowship Program 

  • Develop a recruitment campaign for the Fellowship program, interviewing and selecting the best students from across Canada 
  • Create, plan and execute all aspects of a highly respected five-day conference in Ottawa for 50 students with over 30 speakers 
  • Create, plan and execute the year-long program including bi-weekly conference calls with speakers and a mentorship program for Senior Fellows 
  • Supervise Fellows on multiple campuses to assist with their planning of events on their campuses 
  • Build and maintain relationships with current Fellows and Fellowship Alumni from coast-to-coast 
  • Serve as a concierge and mentor for Fellows – developing a personalized follow-up plan for each participant to deepen their connection to politics, engaging them in continued activities in all levels of Canadian politics and Jewish community life 

Campus Engagement 

  • Foster relationships with university organizations and campus political clubs to further opportunities for collaboration that is related to political engagement 
  • Work with partner organizations on campus to promote and support political engagement; create and deliver programming about political engagement throughout the year on campuses from coast-to-coast 
  • Engage university and college students in overall CJPAC programming and as election volunteers 
  • Mentor university students through on and off campus political engagement 
  • Maintain robust data tracking using our CRM system 

Alumni Network 

  • Engage our 450+ alumni network through 1-1s, events, and mentorship opportunities 
  • Prepare and coordinate our monthly alumni newsletter 
  • Manage the alumni committee and ensure proper governance 

General Responsibilities 

  • Assist in overall election preparedness as required during Municipal, Provincial, and Federal Elections 
  • Serve as a resource for CJPAC’s professional team and lay leadership on campus politics and best practices 
  • Engage students and alumni in overall CJPAC programming

  • Understanding of the Canadian political landscape and partisan politics in Canada and of the Jewish and pro-Israel community landscape in Canada 
  • Demonstrable interest and commitment to the specific vision and mission of CJPAC, especially multipartisanship 
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills 
  • Superior organizational skills and a strong sense of responsibility 
  • Humour, empathy and personal & professional integrity 
  • Creativity and problem-solving ability 
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills 
  • Excellent judgment, common sense, and discretion  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues 
  • Post-secondary certification; five years of full-time work experience including politics, non-profit or Jewish community roles 
  • Experience with CRMs, social media and presentation software will be considered assets 
  • Bilingualism will be considered an asset  


At our national headquarters in Toronto, we recently returned to in-office and in-community work with a structured hybrid model where staff work in the office a minimum of two days per week and remotely the remaining three days; however, it is possible that we could return to full-time in-office and in-community work at some point in the future. The successful candidate for this job should be based in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal and will need to travel to campuses across the country infrequently.   

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
