Montreal Students Spend a Day on the Hill

On May 14, 18 students from the Hebrew Academy in Montreal spent a busy day on Parliament Hill partaking in a program organized by CJPAC. Throughout the day, the students met with politicians, attended Question Period and enjoyed a Kosher lunch on the Hill. They sat down with Pierre Poilevre, MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, and the Honourable Irwin Cotler, MP; met with the Honourable Joe Volpe, MP, and Adam Blinick, Special Assistant, PMO; listened to Israeli Ambassador Miriam Ziv deliver a speech in honour of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Israel; and chatted with CJPAC Board Member Jonathan Freedman. Before entering Question Period, the group ran into Neil Drabkin, Chief of Staff to the Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister for International Trade and past federal candidate for Mount Royal and briefly spoke with him as well.

To end off a great day, the Prime Minister and his motorcades drove by as the students were leaving for the day.
