TORONTO– The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, made the following statement today on Yom Kippur:
“Today we observe the beginning of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, one of the holiest days for the Jewish community.
As families gather in synagogues for services, fasting and prayer, we reflect on our own actions during the past year, and we look outward and seek the forgiveness of others. We hope for good health, happiness and to be sealed in the Book of Life, and that we continue to be guided by wisdom and faith in the days to come.
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, allow me to extend my best wishes to the Jewish community on this sacred day. G’mar Chatimah Tovah.”
