The Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Andrew Scheer, issued the following statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day:
“Today on the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, we reflect on the Holocaust – a dark chapter in the world’s history. The Jewish community around the world still faces ongoing persecution, threats of violence, and harassment. Let us all take a moment today to honour the courage and resilience of Holocaust survivors, mourn those we lost to this genocide and remember to combat anti-Semitism, racism and hatred in all forms. Never again.”
