Why work at CJPAC?

CJPAC aims to be the best place to work for dedicated, hard-working people who want to see Canada’s Jewish community and its allies thrive, grow, and contribute to democracy.

Every day, we work to protect and strengthen Canadian democracy through political engagement. It’s a mission that’s more important than ever.

Working here isn’t always easy, but it’s full of meaning. We provide a supportive environment with constant opportunities to develop your skills, advance your career, and find new ways to advance our mission.

Overview of the Position:

CJPAC sees incredible strength and potential in the Manitoba Jewish community and its allies. That’s why we’re seeking to hire a dedicated full-time staff member in Winnipeg.

As the Director, Manitoba Region, you will lead CJPAC’s work to maximize the political impact of the Manitoba Jewish community and its allies in federal, provincial, and municipal elections.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be CJPAC’s key ambassador in Manitoba, a trusted political advisor to community members engaging in the democratic process, and the lead relationship manager with Manitoba lay leaders, partner organizations, and CJPAC program participants and alumni.

Responsibilities:

  • Political Concierge: Your top priority will be maximizing the political impact of the Jewish community and allies as volunteers, donors, and organizers in election campaigns. You will develop and deliver tailored political training programs, both in person and virtually, that empower participants to make a difference in elections at every level of government – providing community members with guidance and introductions at every step of their political journey.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: You will build cooperative, mutually beneficial relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders, positioning CJPAC as a valued team player and a cornerstone of the Manitoba Jewish community.
  • Development & Stewardship: You will cultivate strong relationships with CJPAC’s existing donors in Manitoba, demonstrating the value we deliver and ensuring their feedback is reflected in our initiatives. Supported by lay leaders and the national staff team, you will deliver consistent annual growth in donations and sponsorships from existing and new supporters.
  • CJPAC Programs: You will build awareness and drive recruitment for CJPAC’s Fellowship, Generation, and campaign training programs in Manitoba, ensuring strong representation from the province in these national initiatives.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Work with community leadership and allied organizations to identify and develop candidates for elected office.

Candidate Profile:

You have a growth mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. You are familiar with Canadian politics (including some hands-on experience), at least 5 years of work experience, and a deep commitment to CJPAC’s mission. A willingness to travel and flexibility around work hours are essential. An existing connection to the Winnipeg Jewish community is a major asset.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional people skills, with ability to quickly identify common ground and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Strong leadership abilities, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating engagement programs and events.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and demonstrate ownership in a demanding, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
