The Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives and of the Official Opposition, on November 28, 2021, issued the following statement on social media to mark Hanukkah:
“This evening is the beginning of Chanukah.
“Each night, Jewish homes will be illuminated by the light of the menorah as they pray and celebrate, with delicious latkes and sufganivot, the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
“As we recognize and honour this joyous holiday, we must continue to stand up against anti-Semitism and be allies for our Jewish neighbours.
“Canada’s Conservatives will continue to fight and use our voice to stand with our Jewish community in Canada and around the world.
“On behalf of Canada’s Conservatives, I wish you a blessed and joyful Chanukah.
“Chag Chanukah Sameach!”
