“Today it is with deep sorrow that we mark Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Every year, we take a moment to remember and reflect on the genocide carried out against the Jewish people and the systematic murder of six million human beings, killed because they were Jewish.
Women, men and children were hunted in their own homes, and executed in concentration camps, simply because of their faith and identity.
Today, we remember, but must also recommit ourselves to eliminating hatred in all its forms, and to always be vigilant against the rise of anti-semitism and xenophobia.
Together, let’s make sure that such a tragedy never happens again.”
